How time has flown. I have now finished my 4 year undergraduate course in Vocal Studies at the Royal Northern College of Music.
My focus now is on preparation for Berlin Opera Academy 2017. I was delighted to receive a scholarship from BOA and to be given the role of Bartolo in Le Nozze di Figaro. It's not particularly a role that shows my voice off compared to that of the Count because of the tessitura difference. But I'm only 22 years old and Bartolo is a great starting role - I am so grateful and excited to have been given this opportunity.
I fly to Berlin in July - need to dust down the Tuxedo! so lots of packing and translating of Italian scores. I am also keeping fit at the Gym. In order to sing some of the music that I am currently learning, my body needs to be fit as well.
Before all this, I am singing the Bass solo's in Mozarts Requiem at Ripon Cathedral on the 8th July at 7.30pm with Leeds Festival Chorus and York Guildhall Orchestra, so if you're around please come and listen.
